Luxury-fashion etailer My-Wardrobe has appointed former Harrods Direct director David Worby as its global chief executive, effective July 2012. His appointment comes in a year that has seen My-Wardrobe extend its international presence in Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
Last year saw My-Wardrobe open an office in Sydney, which will be the springboard for its planned expansion into New Zealand and Singapore this year.
Six months ago the business, which launched in London in 2006 as a destination for "affordable luxury" opened an office in Norway and has since launched a localised website for Norwegian customers. Swedish and Danish sites are set to follow within six months.
My-Wardrobe opened an office in Dubai this year, with a view to grow its sales in the Middle East. Its website for the region is currently in English, but a spokesperson for My-Wardrobe confirmed a fully localised version will be unveiled within 12 months.
David Worby’s appointment will help the brand achieve its ambitious international expansion plans, particularly into emerging markets, where My-Wardrobe sees most of its growth potential.
