Upscale department store retailer Harvey Nichols has appointed Sandrine Deveaux, formerly director of marketing and ecommerce at luxury online apparel store Matches, as head of ecommerce.
Tobar has hired David Mordecai, founder at Modelzone, as interim chief executive officer following the departure of Simon Palmer, who left the business on 25th May.
Majestic Wines has promoted Ben Nicholl, who’s been with the company since 1994, to commercial sales director. He heads up Majestic Commercial, a division that specialises in the supply of wine to corporate customers.
Tesco has announced that clothing boss Jill Easterbrook has been promoted to a newly created role, covering a number of divisions, including Tesco Nutricentre, Tesco Ireland, Tesco Mobile and convenience chain Onestop. Jason Tarry will now lead clothing across the UK and Ireland in addition to his existing responsibilities for central Europe and the F&F brand internationally.
Online marketplace eBay has appointed Sainsbury’s director of digital and cross-channel Tanya Lawler to the newly created role of vice president of UK trading. She joins in the autumn with the brief to develop eBay’s customer strategy and drive growth in eBay’s retail brand business and business seller partnerships.
Charlotte Gilmore has joined The Conran Shop as head of ecommerce. She was previously ecommerce manager at Kurt Geiger and before that worked for English Heritage as online sales and mail order manager.
Luxury department store Fortnum & Mason hired Tim Fisher, formerly of Marks & Spencer, as retail director. It also named Selfridges’ Ewan Venters as its new chief executive, replacing Beverley Aspinall who left in May.
N Brown Group, the owner of Figleaves and Simply Be, has revealed Lord Alliance of Manchester will stand down as chairman of the group after 40 years in the role. He will be replaced by Andrew Higginson, formerly executive director of Tesco. Alan White, who has been chief executive of N Brown since 2002, will retire from the company next year.
Sam Jenkinson has moved from direct marketing manager at apparel retailer Next to marketing manager at Victoria Plumb.
Supplier people
Sanderson has appointed Bryan Brunt as operations director for its multichannel retail business. He will head up the operational team, with responsibility for development, customer support and implementation.
Stickyeyes, the digital marketing agency, has restructured its executive team: Craig Chalmers, owner and managing director, moves to chief executive officer, while commercial director Phil Kissane is promoted to managing director. Stickyeyes also welcomed chief commercial officer Glen Conybeare, who will oversee business development and new product development, among other responsibilities.
Orbital Response, part of the Orbital Marketing Services group that includes Orbital Mailing and BP Travel Marketing services, has appointed Nick Turnbull as business development manager. He joins from outsourcing company Prolog.
