News roundup--Kays Medical buys medical equipment business, more

By Catalogue e-business | Publication date: 08/12/2010 | Category: News

Kays Medical, a supplier of health and safety products, equipment, and training services, has acquired medical equipment supplier DM Wood Medical. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition sees DM Wood Medical become part of the Kays group retaining its Aberdeen offices. DM Wood’s owner David Wood remains with the enlarged company as operations director.

Ironmongery products supplier IronmongeryDirect has appointed four new product managers as part of its plans to increase the portfolio from 11,500 to 20,000 lines within five years. Jennifer King, Matthew Allen, Martin Smith, and Jamie Johnson join senior product manager Paul White.

Seems the Middletons are fair game as far as the media are concerned. A very smug piece in the Telegraph gloats about Party Pieces not needing its 20,000 sq ft warehouse.

Straight plc, the environmental products and services group, has acquired the remaining 70 percent of Tapmagic, a distributor of water-saving tap inserts for basin taps. Straight originally acquired 30 percent of Tapmagic in March 2007 for £35,000, the remaining shares were acquired last week for a further £92,000.

Nigel’s Eco Store, Natural Collection, InternetGardener.co.uk, Lakeland, Home Scents, and One Brown Cow are featured in a Telegraph article called “50 tips for a green and glorious Christmas”.
